ETA Season 3?
2037
People crying hugely about Ellie ending up on the scar island for 45 seconds
I’m not really sure what it added but I’m also not really sure why it’s being treated like some sacrilegious betrayal of the game or anything
Purists been insufferable since day 1 this aint new lol

Don’t think it’s purists tbh it just felt so pointless. Save that island for next season.

It definitely felt pointless and I didnt like it but I’m not just talking about the scene itself
I think the biggest issue with Ellie this season is that she’s written to be a great solider/fighter in theory (at the start of it we see her using a sniper with good aim and people in the place recognise her as being good) but as soon as she’s in Seattle she is the weakest in every situation and her rational makes no sense.
Constantly bailed out. She walks into thag infested area without any knowledge of whether other infected are in there. The scene towards the end when she wanted to fight 6 solders despite Jesse saying he can’t die as he’s going to become a father.
I think if they wrote her more of being smart in these situations it would’ve made it a lot stronger.
Finale was good.
I think the season overall pales in comparison to the first but people are making this out to be some sort of disaster because it’s not a 1:1 adaptation
Still not 100% sure about how I feel re: Ellie’s approach to killing everyone, but if anything it’s not at fault of Bella. I would say if anything any big changes are at the hand of Craig Mazin. Now I don’t mind most of the changes but if there’s any one to point fingers at it’s him.
As a Part II truther I am excited to see how they adapt Abby’s side of things, it just sucks that we’ll have to wait 2 years to see it
Also it was really cool seeing the cut Seraphite-Ellie part from the game but it does kind of stunt the pacing with how short it was. Say if the episode was mainly that and it ends with her escaping and the next episode would’ve fleshed out Mel and Owen’s deaths more then I think it would’ve been more effective.

tbf the difference being is that she is acting in anger for the whole time in seattle. That anger can tend to make her lose logic/rationale, aswell as focus on thinking before acting
Everything in Jackson was done way better than the game, very fleshed out and a lot of character. Everything in Seattle has felt like they're just checking boxes from the game. This really needed to be a 10 episode season and spend more time in Seattle
"Ellie's boat trip to the aquarium should have been a whole episode" bruh whattt😭😭😭
the entirety of day 3 isn't even an hour long lmao, and how you even do an entire episode of that... this is what baffles me, this season had a LOT of flaws but y'all bring up the most ridiculous things that are not even flaws in the first place
You think it’s ridiculous that I expect a television adaptation to sit down in the writing room and write stories and events to make it so characters arnt fast travelling all season long?

Agreed
@SOLARIS earlier in the season had the most succinct take and true take I’ve seen and it continued to be true each week. That it kinda feels like a show that has the external, macro level look and feel of a must-see, medium-peak prestige show, but underneath it at the actual core, it isn’t doing anything to really earn that heftiness
😳 me?
Per Variety / The Wrap
Season 2 of TLOU gathered 37 Million Global viewers per episode
Compared to season 2 of HOTD which gathered 25 million global viewers per episode
They hate watching huh
😳 me?
Yes!!! Do u remember saying that? I may be ascribing more description than you did but you defo said something about it having the vaneer of prestige but not the actual foundation/meat of prestige
yo fam quick question
I wanna finish watching season2 but i’m also playing TLOU2 for the first time and i’m like 40% thru
(i’m at the part where Ellie steals the boat in seattle and just navigating with it)
is it okay to finish watching S2 ?
