Osama bin HardenA combination of thoughts, this week’s episode and podcast just leaves me with the conclusion that the tone feels off around Ellie’s character and her journey. It also doesn’t help that I saw a video comparing the scene around the map (added laugh tracks to drive the point more) with that particular segment coming off as Hannah Montana in the show.
lmaooo. I saw a similar TikTok but they added a laughing track to the scene where Ellie walks in and asks Dina about the plan and it made me realize how truly bad the writing and tone are.

May 15, 2025·1 replyDegausserhaving played and finished the games just before the show's premiere, I was a big supporter of season 1 - even if by the end I was kind of unsure if I truly enjoyed it or was just content it was more faithful than most adaptations
But this season... idk man. I understand that the games and the show are two separate entities but I think using that as an excuse to deviate from what made the source so compelling in the first place is a big misstep. Why not just make an original story set in the TLoU world then?
I won't go on a tangent, but the casting is showing its limitations and its further highlighted by the abysmal writing.
Even the make-up/wardrobe design is questionable. Why does Dina look so fabulous and pristine? She's even wearing a $600 jacket lol
It’s really exposing Maizan. The writing has been terrible. Given the strong source material it’s very disappointing.
