Episode 3 since its encapsulated likely the most rewatchable if you were to just watch one

It feels like the series was made just to make that episode cause mostly everything else was just a half assed version of the game

out of respect of those that loved the show I am not going to acknowledge the half assed part but ME just me would be okay if the show did a 3 hour focused Ellie and Joel episode, 1 hour Bill Frank, 1 hour Sam Henry, 1 firefly episode, 1 Fedra episode.

Like swap perspectives a bit more. I think they gave Pedro and Bella too much too carry where seeing them at all times . Like in a third person game I don't have to stare at their face all game no gameplay portions if I did I would feel different. I would have liked switching all over perspective wise and seeing different characters back story.

I know many will be like "no see Joel and Ellie whole time but " it lead to mixed results for me

Attemping to recreate s*** 1:1 was always futile cause the game was so f***ing good. The show was at its strongest when it was doing new stuff. I just wish they took a different direction with it.

And like you said, there simply wasn't enough time devoted to Joel and Ellie. Without playing the game and knowing them I don't know if I'd buy their relationship.

recreating 1:1 without a lot of the gameplay and infected parts is just boneless to me. Like Last of Us cutscenes only without the desperation and stealth parts didn't all connect for my brain. I get what they were going for with a more realistic " old white man" not a mass killer but lacking them just sneaking by without killing was all I needed a lil bit more.

But I get what it was going for and it balanced fan service and new stuff new well enough for what it was going for

We're going in circles here and I don't wanna make it seem like a hate circlejerk. Overall, it was good. But when you compare it to the game it's a big meh.

Oh yeah no hate I just hope next season they switch perspectives more as someone however silly loved cold opens. I like building the story from many different angles to all connect.
