Like writing gets odd at the end because there is 0 reason Marlene wouldn't be like "congrats Joel and Ellie you made it ". Its not like Ellie or Joel would be able to escape whether they said yes or no either way. She would have come after Ellie eventually with no doctor or way to make the vaccine? The character that throughout the story of season 1 and game 1 we see damn near 0 fireflies try to come after you or look for you until the end? The same fireflies that spend 0% of the game 2 looking for Ellie besides for revenge. the fact she is immune and vaccine barely a plot point game 2 and the wolves/ remaining fireflies don't even give a f\*\*\* about all that anymore. Joel but especially Ellie in game 2 gets the plot armor of the villain revealing their plan and saying "but dont kill and stop my plan " even though I could kill you right now Joel, Ellie, Tommy and end the plot instead for plot reasons I will lower my weapon gun, knife or escort you out like you stand no chance of foiling my plan muahhahahahah
