Bella doesn't really look like Ellie but she sounds and acts like her. She captures the essence and spirit of Ellie.

Pedro looks similar to Joel but doesn't feel like him. Something is off, this Joel is too "soft."
He doesn't give off the cold, stotic, hard ass exterior of a man that spent 20 years in a apocalypse doing whatever to survive.

It's just not believable that he's done a bunch of horrible things like ambushed, murdered and tortured people. He doesn't come across threatening at all. It's in the way he delivers his lines and mannerisms. In the board strokes maybe but the believability gets lost in the nuance of Pedro's performance.

The game was pretty difficult but it's not like they can have him respawning in the show and to translate how the difficult the game is to the screen they would need to adjust to show him struggling more

I appreciate that the show only hints at Riley being Ellie's first kill without having to depict it. Honestly would've been too much trauma for my feeble heart after episode 5.

Disagree. The dude from episode 4 that he killed begging for his life. The dude he beat the s*** out of episode 1. He has a great shot and proved it several times. Dudes got a scar on his head that him and Ellie discuss from a fight when he would kill people. I think they did a good job showing he did some f***ed up stuff.

You got to catch up before I can properly discuss but yes we know he can’t respawn so things have to change ( I’ve said that from beginning on both season 1 and 2 stories would look wacky or non sensical ) but what is presented here doesn’t show struggle in ammo, stealth , using whatever possible as a weapon and finding a way . I’m actually surprised they haven’t played to the wooden plank , bottle , boss fights , running out of ammo moments . It is what it is though a different interpretation. To act like this is the same Joel and Ellie is just a mistake

It’s not about him being soft . It’s about by this point show him defending the human he loves in any way possible from humans and infected to a larger degree than they have . Not by a whole lot more but by more yes . It comes close to be clear just misses the mark then having him Tommy we killed people conversation comes off stupid because in show only humans we have seen him forced to kill he looked messy and they didn’t show the action stealth tension well in episode 5 shoot out ( likely would have shown better somewhat inside to show him moving around more than shooting from one location but who knows ).

Those two cold opens at the start of the season were so trash and they look so out of place because they stopped doing them since
