Kroniic after y'all had him typing paragraphs was looking like Joel with that mini heart attack. When he woke up this morning and expected to see me in the thread and it was all of y'all going in
0/10 adaption he didn’t make a 1 hour pit stop at the university to unlock a secret area which has a flamethrower
this but unironically
Agreed yeah. We needed more of that. Claustrophobic danger and constantly being on their toes. Not necessarily constant death and gore.
episode 5 action felt too world war z, walking dead to me when I was hoping especially after they built entire sets they would focus on that more intimate horror. The car moment was cool though
Honestly if yall want to.plsy the game its right there....this been perfect so far

Why hasn’t he unlocked the bow yet? And where are the supplements?
Would be a 0/10 if not for the gay s***scene

This is what I am saying but I do understand people saying "can something be perfect if it doesn't nail the emotions of the game "?
For me changes are just part of any adaptation really. That’s why I look at adaptions as another form to view content and not a replacement of what it’s adapting

Butt S***saved this show and we didn't even get to see or hear the Butt S**
so how many kills should joel have so far
what is an acceptable amount to you
It's not about the "kills" so much as I feel that the brutality of the world they live in isn't as impactful as it was in game. We see Joel and Ellie run from most fights with Infected so it's rare that we see how effective they can be aside from the occasional Clicker encounter. The bloater killing Kathleen's bodyguard is a great example; just a little more detail instead of a blurry CGI mist in the distance would've gone a long way.
This episode is considerably disappointing because in the game, Ellie and Joel fight off armies of Infected/Raiders at the University until Joel eventually gets impaled on a obstacle after falling from two stories , which would've made a good opportunity for Ellie and Joel to have more depth and for the brutality of the show to shine through ( most fights in TLOU should play out like Marvel's Daredevil; not exactly technical either).
this is real. This is why when people say "this is better than the game" I am like okay. Its different . Its a different telling. This has major changes that will change how the ending hits
Yeah I read the Harry Potter books before watching the movies and remember all the changes they made fans used to complain about but it gained a whole new fan base with the movies that never read the books.
This show now has new fans that never played the games and probably never will. This will be their definitive version

Changes are the best part of the show tbh. Its when it tries to replicate the game to a T that it falls flat for me.

I get that and agree. I just question if this show differentiates itself from many stories we have already seen told in tv and film if it avoids the game things that made it different than many of those things

Flamethrower isn’t until SLC 🙈

so you see the problem with the idea of an old dude and a 14 year old girl fighting off scores of armed raiders

🤓 acktually it can be unlocked early at the university

replicating the game dialogue to a t while removing majority of gameplay elements and feels is what is jarring . Trying to be realism in a game story that was never about realism.

Wait what
I don’t think I knew that
so you see the problem with the idea of an old dude and a 14 year old girl fighting off scores of armed raiders
season 2 will have these same problems though so why focus on realism lol

because we dont know if this is true?
also it would be more realistic for abby and a reasonably well equipped group to do all that anyways
because we dont know if this is true?
Ellie killing many people will look silly . Her traveling across the country to kill one person isn't realism
I am simply saying the game story isn't realistic. Many TV shows and films have unrealistic depictions of killing, violence, Dialogue etc but we embrace them to understand their story. I am confused on why you all are so focused on realism. When even the idea of creating and distributing a vaccine in a apocalypse is unrealistic. Nothing is realistic.
