they cut so much of it out because 1) thats no the story they are triyng to tell 2) the show just cant dedicate precious time to joel vs raiders lmao 3) again, this is not a game. joel is not taking out 5-6 raiders at a time. especially when they are armed.

Joel being hyper violent for Ellie is part of the story to a degree though. Like I get what you are saying but this got him a much weaker human. If they were / are going for realism there is plenty that doesn't feel real here. I to be clear am not asking for 50 kills from a 50 year old man but he only has like 3 kills
which for many will make the end feel far fetched

if you want alarming violence the game is there though. S*** game 2 milks it and I think they knew they wanted to lower some of the shock value level of killing and make it more remembering each battle. Especially because they likely made the decision early on to not have things like a med kit

As far as lack of realism you have episode 3, in which there’s only one raider attack in 20 years, in which Bill stands in the MIDDLE OF THE STREET shooting at the raiders. Then you have the scene where Joel is showing Ellie how to use a gun, and Ellie points the gun at Joel and he does not correct her, no irl gun owner would do this. Thirdly, they live in a world where infected and murderous humans are possibly around anywhere you go, yet Ellie is running around screaming and fooling around in the underground tunnels.
As far as casting, Joel and Ellie are great, but a lot of the side characters are, uhhh… not the easiest to look at, which is fine I guess but really weird for a show with such high production values

then its a you got to play the game situation. The action even present in the show hasn't been like so well directed where I think more action would solve your problem. If they gave you more action you would likely think it was clunky in execution. So they are playing to their strengths
