I will 100% like watching part 2 more than playing

and i admit that i have a specific bias and lens - and possible advantage - as a player who didnt experience these games with years of gap in between 1 and 2 where i could fantisize and speculate where it was going next with Joel and Ellie next. I played them back to back for the first time, and it was a super super holistic experience. It was very clear to me very early in 2 that Part II was trying to paint a picture and message way bigger than just Joel.

Yeah lol playing them back to back no spoilers would change a lot but again either way after I beat 1( no spoilers blind run ) . I was like “ what a perfect ending they leaving you with that unsettling feeling of never seeing these characters again “ . Then the part 2 announcement I was like idk lol then rumors that really persisted wasn’t so much trans Abby killing Joel as much as joel is a ghost you see throughout the game . With the combined time skips and how injured he got game 1 and no place being safe for him or shouldn’t be because he murdered all hope of a cure , doctors and Marlene I thought his death and living rest of life on the run was inevitable
