I mean they wanted to "garner sympathy" for Abby just like how villains get sympathy in movies or tv

She is still the "villain" of the story though.

I cared about Ellie and her friends because I cared about Ellie just as much as Joel in the first game. I think Abby was well written and I still loved her section of the game because of the fantastic world building. But yeah I never really cared about her friends but I still found her arc with Mel and Owen to be pretty interesting.

I’m impatient as well but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. All I know is if they bring back the crossbow it’s over for a lot of you niggas

I agree that most side characters, especially abbys friends were pretty uninteresting. But Ellie/Dina and Abby/Lev were such great duos. Loved every second we played them together and their interactions.

Just give me the semi—auto rifle and lemme craft bombs/molotovs I’m good

Would’ve been cool to see Ellie return to Jackson after Santa Barbara and lie to Tommy saying she got Abby similar to how TLOU1 ends with Joel telling a lie
