Jakey's main take on why the game design is "outdated" is that they want you to learn that violence is bad, but the majority of the game you are killing all type of people until the very end when you decide not to kill your 'greatest enemy'.

Such a bad take. The whole point of the game is that both Ellie and Abby were filled with revenge and were ready to kill anybody that stands in their way until they both eventually learned that "revenge/violence is bad".

How is that "hypocritical" as he claimed? It made sense through out the game..

The other point that the game forces him to do s*** that he doesnt want you, is also dumb coz this is a linear story-driven game. It's telling you a full story, beginning to end.

People nit pic every single aspect of this game but then act like part 1 was a flawless game in every aspect.

Part 1 was full of glitches, and the combat wasn't anything special. The story was great, but on paper the plot is very simple and has been similarly done in film.

And i don't get the argument that ND is forcing you to love Abby, they are well aware that what she did would piss of gamers and they would hate her.
But their goal is to challenge us and put us in a tough position.

In the end I don't think we are forced to love Abby, our job is just to understand her. We are all flawed human beings, and no matter how much you love Joel he was FAR from being a good guy.

Jakey vid is funny and well made, has a couple of points

but man, people really out here making HOUR LONG video's on why something isn't as good as the first one.

That's when you already succeeded as a creator.

You're going to find s*** on anything! Even the Godfather pt 2, even on TPAB, even on MBDTF... Nothing is perfect.

no he has a point that I didn't realize is that you're still a monster for killing countless noname or not related to you people just to get to Abby then not kill Abby.

At least in the first game you grow and love Ellie as a father to the goal to save the world. Then you don't save the world. At least you kill to protect the girl.

You have to acknowledge that this knocks the game below the first one.

It would've meant nothing if Ellie killed Abby, Ellie realized she can't let herself be blinded by hate anymore . And her memory of her and Joel's conversation made her realize that

And Lev wouldve just came after Ellie after and then the cycle of violence just continues

The cycle has to stop somewhere

Ellie killing Abby solves nothing.

Ellie will still feel empty inside.
Joel will still be dead.
Dina still is gone.

Ellie and Abby both killed each others friends, and Abby could've killed Ellie and Dina but she spared them .
She forgave Ellie and let her continue to live her life.
But Ellie couldn't move on and let go, and it caused her to lose her new family. Her hunt for revenge left her with nothing

Don't agree with Jakey but as always I enjoyed watching his video and appreciated the way he put his arguments forward

he did make a pretty good point about there being a missed opportunity by the game not having a moment where you see the consequences of the player's own actions within the actual gameplay like The Sorrow fight in MGS3, think that would have worked really well here

I’m glad they gave us a divisive and provoking take on this story than an average blind walkthrough type of one

The experience of playing this is a 10/10
That doesn’t mean the story doesn’t have problems but it’s worth every thing to play

i hated how bland the side characters were. dina, abby friends,, i never act cared for them.

i remember how the death of henry and his brother f***ed me up in part 1. and then you have boring isaac vs the white r kelly version david
