I’m saying that’s not exactly a spoiler, it’s common knowledge

Anybody who is even mildly interested in this game already knows that

Anyone know the answer to this?
(Had to have finished the game)

When Abby's in the basement of the house and makes contact on the radio is she really talking to the fireflies or is she talking to that group who ends up catching her?

imagine she talked to the fireflies cuz the title screen after you beat the game alludes to her and lyn going to wherever the fireflies were

If it’s a plot point that happened in the game, then it’s a spoiler. Either apologize of stfu but don’t try to defend a spoiler as though it’s not

Gotta say I agree with you on all agenda stuff man

The thing I hate is you can’t even criticise it from this angle without instantly being labelled a bigot

I like Abby for the most part, but the fact they made her so buff is completely ridiculous, so much of the plot felt like it was supposed to push certain political opinions, to the point that a lot of the plot elements felt secondary

Honestly the “political” aspects of the game are just revealing more about the people who complain about them. Especially with swole woman. Trait that says so much about the character without a word of dialogue.

Abby’s buff because it’s part of her coping mechanism and disassociation from Joel killing her father and Firefly crew. Textbook example of a traumatic experience changing someone. In the flashback levels with Owen at the aquarium and around St. Mary’s Hospital with her dad she’s regular looking. She internalized that anger and took it to the gym as part of her drive to find and kill Joel. But her change in physique also reflects how she lost herself in pursuit of revenge and became a different person. Just like Ellie pursuing her. In the aquarium level Owen comes onto her and she embraces it briefly but turns him away and changes the conversation to focusing on Joel. Owen isn’t having it and Abby leaves. Years later she gets buff and Owen’s with a new girl who’s pregnant and they’re planning their own life together. Abby hardened herself to fulfill her life’s mission and she succeeded. She got revenge on Joel but at the cost of losing any focus/sense beyond revenge and fell away from the man she loved. Killing Joel was the only purpose she knew but there’s little catharsis or growth for her, now she’s only made her a further shell of her former self. Her and Ellie’s arc add way more meaning to the Last of Us title than the first game did.
