Bruh there's a global pandemic going on lmao cmon, like this entire situation is unprecedented, like none of this s*** is normal
s*** is getting delayed left right and centre, we have movies being pushed back an entire whole year right now because they can't play in theaters, and artists pushing albums back because they can't tour
game stores all around the world are closed and we have no idea, when they'll open again, like none of this s***
FF7 just had massive problems with getting its physical copies to people, and that's still a huge part of the gaming market. Like you said the game is already gold, so what possible reason would the delay be other than them wanting to maximise the game's sales potential, it's basic Business 101.
And if a large chunk of your story leaks, obviously you're gonna want to scramble to find a release date in response to that, that's a given. And if they were really unsure and worried about the game, why would they end up delaying it only 3 weeks instead of pushing it back even further? The way Sony handled the entire situation was a mess for sure, but the delay wasn't for "shits and giggles" and at the end of the day still has no bearing on the actual game
Like don't get it twisted,I'm still buying in spite if seeing and knowing the leaks, but the best damage control would be releasing it and the end of the week digitally, but Sony is probably wanting to make physical copies reach the consumers. Cool, but it appears people were delaying and pushing back prior to the pandemic. Hitting. It's infuriating to dangle a product and cause hype by pretending it isn't finished. Even if it's marketing business, they look like fools when they can secure a solid release date in 24 hours after a disastrous leak jeopardize their revenue.
Think ima wait for user reviews before deciding whether to pay full price or not. Still plan to cop the game.
almost guaranteed that reviews are gonna suck this game off regardless

yeah I'm not gonna argue with that, while I totally understand their reasoning for pushing back the game, but the way Sony went about the whole thing was dumb as hell
had they just said from the jump that they were gonna push back the game a few weeks to June in order to try their best to make sure everyone could get the game, I doubt anyone would be mad. Doing this whole dance with the game being "delayed indefinitely" and pulling preorders was really dumb and unnecessary, and I think they could have avoided a lot of this had they waited to secure a release date THEN announce a delay

And still allowing two months? It's of concern, and the game is relying on their story, not so much their gameplay to make them bank and now the experience is muddled

i can easily see a 95+ MC score with like a 2.0 user score lol
Honest question:
If you were mostly interested in the story, now that it has leaked are you paying full price for the game or waiting?
Nah. I'll play it eventually but it definitely fell off the day one list.
almost guaranteed that reviews are gonna suck this game off regardless

When has a game being delayed many times been for good reason?
Numerous times. Rdr2 being the last example.
Delaying allows them to work out bugs and add extra polish. That is a good thing.
Naughty Dog has never made a bad game.
Leak has been the most ironic s*** ever. Mans had the game finished, perfect time to release it but wanted it to have physical copies, got their s*** leaked and now only moved it up by 20 days

We all knew the game was finished before the leak
They just didn’t want us to eat
Why is everyone saying they aren’t excited about the game anymore? Were the leaks really that bad? Don’t spoil anything of course but I’m just curious how everything could go so wrong when it should be a masterpiece.

All the major beats of the storyline have been leaked. Whether it's good or bad is up to you but it's divisive to say the least.

there’s actually only one major story beat we that we actually know for sure happens
everything else is still up in the air and speculation based off a 4chan leak and from what i understand some of the stuff in there actually contradicts some of the leaked footage so we still don’t really know what happens in the rest of the game

the op in this does a pretty good job of breaking down what’s real and what’s still speculation at this point (obviously don’t click if you don’t want spoilers)

Questionable story decisions that affect gameplay. Divisiveness over perceived political agenda.

Why does the opinion of others shape your opinion? Why don't you play it and form your own review of it damn son. Do you listen to what other niggas say when your deciding if you wanna live or die?
Honestly as much as reviewers can gas up games user reviews hold even less weight to me
these are the kind of dudes that’ll review review bomb Mortal Kombat with 0s because the titties aren’t big enough lmao, they aren’t exactly the most objective of sources
