Odeon receives the life jacket just in the last moment before the tentacle comes rushing down on the both of them (still needs to put it on).
Barry is able to jump in one direction, standing on the water as if it was solid ground, Odeon swims away real quick, almost getting swept away again by the heavy wave, but he's able to use the life jacket in his hands to stay afloat.

Tariq surprised "Woahhh!" and everyone takes their distance from him, starting to ascend the inclined walls of the riverbed. Coochiemane comments "Yeah you better!"
Fougere senses once again that Jeffrae feels restless perceiving the energy emitted from Coochiemane**.

Octopus Turn 16

The Octopus starts swimming even faster, catching up easily to the fleeing untouched, it dives underneath the Point-No-Point bridge, it's huge grotesque head is now directly behind Barry and Odeon. It's surprisingly fast for such a large creature. The both of them see how the huge maw underneath the surface is sucking in the water around it.
The Octopus tries to block their way out, there's tentacles surfacing all around and in front of them.
It attempts to grab Barry with one of them.

Hit Roll (d20): 4+5 = 9 Misses

But Barry is able to evade the tentacle that's trying to wrap around him.

The rest of the tentacles all try to sweep Odeon and Barry towards the Octopus head.

Elori senses the 'sad' energy enveloping Coochiemane getting stronger as the green aura around him rises. It's much more intense than the last time he felt it and it feels like this is only a fraction of it's full capacity.

Then I use cunning action to keep dashing through the water

The Octopus easily deflects the firebolt with one of it's tentacles before it can reach it's head. Odeon almost reaches the shallow waters, diving to dodge another tentacle coming at him before surfacing again.

Two tentacles close in on Barry from the front, he gracefully ducks one of them and jumps over the second one who stirs up the river while coming at him.
