No they are bums.

I'm living better than them:
I have a high paying job and more than one stream of income.
I don't rent I own and have a tenant paying me rent.
I have a loving family, girl and loyal friends.
I have healthcare.

Mal:

Unemployed
A glorified entourage member who lived with Joe for a decade until Joe gave him a job.
Got exposed by his homeboy about the second strike to AK.
Still pays rent (nothing wrong with renting, but I've clearly levelled up here on him).
Did not take the opportunity and launch his own shows on the network like Joe wanted to build around him (Sports show and love of mal)
Didn't help get new business/partners for the pod.
Collected a pay check while joe continued to reinvest and pay for everything using his income from other jobs.
No healthcare

Rory:

His girl left him
Lost his job on his bday
Still pays rents (hopefully he saved his money - Ny rent aint a joke)
Is a balding ginger
Got destroyed by AK
no healthcare

Can they turn it all around and change my opinion? Obviously, but in this moment they are bums who fumbled their only stream of income.

Do me a favour and go ask your boss to see the books and tell them you want equity because you are doing a good job. Please report back with their answer.

when rory asked for equity joe said

"i'm not selling"

if they weren't cool with the arrangement it should have been handled at that point

Joe saying “YALL WERE TOO SCARED TO ASKKKKKKKK” then saying “RORY ASKED AND I TOLD HIM IM NOT SELLING” 10 mins later just makes him seem like the least credible party here IMO

U seem to believe everything Joe says. Joe called them “rich” and said they paid in the top5% of podcasters. So if that’s true chances are they living better than u. Unless you’re a millionaire spending all your time on KTT

LOL you're still on about this man. I personally, don't believe they got paid millions. They probably make max 120k per year with no benefits. But then again who knows it could be more or less. They only work 28 hrs per week. If they earn 60k a year at 28 hrs per week thats really good.

Not to fully show my pockets I will leave it at this. I mentioned them paying rent because I own two properties. One in downtown Toronto and the other slightly on the outskirts of the city. Just with these asset alone, I would say I'm doing extremely good at my age. I hustled my ass off to be where I am and sacrificed a s*** ton don't let my trollish behaviour on KTT fool you. When it comes to work ethic and business... I mean business.

i think it's pretty nuanced

im sure it wasn't easy
to approach the topic for rory

because of the friendship dynamic

so i think it is possible for
joe's initial statement to be true

he could have read that on rory

and when the conversation
happened he said no

neither of us were there to read the room
so who knows what actually happened

but i don't feel like joe is the bad guy here

ian doesn't have a contract with joe
and he's not the type of person to
bullshit

i feel like his points during the
conversation were the most realistic
and it's why i feel like rory and mal
will likely come out of this looking
pretty bad

because i just don't imagine a
world where joe would lie about this

because he's the only one who would
be damaged by the lie at this point
