some people have no choice, niggas work to survive bringing me to my earlier point
niggas do work to survive. that is true. but not niggas who have the skills / education / opportunities / network not to. Rory and Mal overestimated their value to the pod
Joe was right when he said very few other organisations would just let their workers leave for 6 weeks and allow them come right back.
Rory & Mal got some nerve for trying it again tbh lol
This is a dumb comparison when Joe was making it. Podcast isn’t the corporate world. So the rules don’t apply. Some of the s*** Joe has said to people who work with him on the pod, would not fly at all with HR in the corporate world.
Podcasting for right now, is still mostly freelance work. Your reputation might take a hit if you just go MIA (which they didn’t) but if you got skills, the work is always gonna come.
Podcast structure varies so much it isn’t applicable at all.
I know this is a “we’re all gonna die anyways” tier point, but this entrepreneurial s*** is getting infectious. Like what is happening, niggas are commodifying conversation and then commodifying beef over the commodification of conversation
when u can sell anything niggas will try to sell everything
Joe was paying them more than what they were entitled to, an audit would have probably revealed some nefarious tax evasion. Rory is fed for even bringing that to Joe
i doubt an audit would have revealed any sort of tax BS. especially since they said they have a licensed accountant handling the books. no licensed individual is gonna risk their career and license to help Joe avoid taxes. Joe should have opened the books to them. And it seems he did. But unless their pay was based on profit participation, there really isn't a need to show them

he literally told them niggas take a break then got mad they took a break lmaooo
County bay county or city by city makes sense but it should still be federally enforced in my opinion
as long as there isn't a strict federal number. even within states, rural california or rural texas is very different cost-wise than Austin or Dallas
when u can sell anything niggas will try to sell everything
this sounded better in my head lmao but i’m happy more people are seeing the flaws in capitalism
I find is fascinating how certain posters itt taking Joe’s word as fact on this without a second thought, when there are 400+ episodes of the podcast that show you that Joe is a gaslighter, and master of spin

I hear you, but I think his point was that they’re picking and choosing when to lean on the friendship.
Like literally the return episode with Rory & Mal is a first hand example of how Joe gaslights, but y’all taking his world as law, without even wanting to hear Mal & Rory’s side of things
So basically joe said if mal changes his whole attitude and way of thinking, they can talk about re-entry. But rory is canned for good
he literally told them niggas take a break then got mad they took a break lmaooo
He told Rory to take a few pods off, Mal was supposed to go to work
niggas do work to survive. that is true. but not niggas who have the skills / education / opportunities / network not to. Rory and Mal overestimated their value to the pod
they’ll be fine without the pod, joe will too more than likely but they, or at least rory was not wrong in wanting ownership, and that’s all i got left on the top idc all that much
My point is you should listen to everybody so you can hear all sides and than make your judgements on whose right or wrong.
So if I work for cashapp/spotify etc I'm not corporate? Word?
No... have you ever worked in a corporate setting? It’s not something someone should use as their standard practice for something like podcasting.

Aight now we entering prejudice
Ian is a terrible manager for letting Joe post this episode.
😂😂 man when I was in University I had bum roommate who would use all our s***. Everyone had to start buying there own s*** and keeping it in their rooms. Is mad annoying, I get Mal not sharing.
Agreed i keep all my s*** in my room depending on the crowd cause some niggas don’t know how to act
