Just some of the most immediate ones that are probably easiest to get into first:
    Here Comes the Sun
    Strawberry Fields Forever
    Something
    Blackbird
    Eleanor Rigby
    Day in the Life
    Yesterday
    In My Life
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
    Come Together
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps

That misses out some of my favourites like Julia, Dear Prudence, Helter Skelter, Nowhere Man, Tomorrow Never Knows, I Want You, Happiness Is a Warm Gun etc. tho

Thanks bro. I’ll try to sit down this weekend and listen to a few

ray's influence lasted a long time too.

I feel like a classic 90s album like Pulp's Different Class can be traced back to him. parts of blur, billy bragg, arctic monkeys etc. all feel like they're a part of his tradition too even tho i don't like some of their music lol

Yeah he definitely pioneered a particularly English type of rock that manifests itself in a new goat over generation or so. After teaching the Beatles and Stones to embrace their Englishness there's also:

    Bowie
    Bryan Ferry/Roxy
    Morrissey/ Smiths
Pulp (my fave band of the 90s )
    Franz

    That interview was bonkers

Also nobody ever really accused the Beatles of being spellbinding musicians (although Paul ranks very high for bass imo). It was about the relentless string of classic songs they conjured themselves.

Quincy didn't gaf during that interview
I don't know Paul's bass playing like that but Quincy got on his ass for it too.

They were no-playing motherfuckers. Paul McCartney was the worst bass player I ever heard.”

i mean he's a jazz cat so I don't expect him to dig a cheesy white boy but Paul is a beast to me

    here's a very casual live performance - youtu.be/mVtnNd5ULtk

He's got some good solo songs too. don't let him waste your time, c***s are still running the world etc.

do you like catatonia? cerys to me is one of the only lyricists i like as much from the 90s brit pop scene. she doesn't have his humour tho, apart from that song where tom jones is saving the lives of an angry welsh-english couple who want to kill each other that wasn't catatonia tho
