I donāt get what some people want or are expecting from superhero films anymore. If you think these three films are just āfineā, the genre may just not be for you.
These are all exceptional comic book filmmaking, all in three separate ways
I think F4 is fine, Thunderbolts* is good, and Superman is almost great
If Sue didnāt give birth til the 3rd act this wouldāve banged as a pro life movie. Still does tbh
No flame on
Saving it for the overused marvel clap moment
Couldāve been longer to flesh out the characters a bit more. I wanted to see more interactions between the team. Thereās also some wonky shots (outside of just the cgi baby). Thing talking to Natasha Lyonne stands out. A small nitpick is I hated the Thing beard when I first saw it and knowing itās just for a small gag makes it worse lol
But overall the movie was great imo. The space sequence is gonna go down as one of the all time MCU moments. The cast captured their characters perfectly. The story was grounded in a deep emotion that made it easy to resonate with. Iām sad that theyāre leaving this world to join the main universe because I really like this world theyāve built
I know Thing didnāt get much here but Iām not mad at that. I knew they couldnāt give everyone the same amount of time spent on them and as long as they expand more on him in the sequels itāll be fine

natasha lyonne in general was confusing iām not sure if they cut a lot but what they left didnāt add much to the movie
shouldāve just cut her out all together

Optimistic me says theyāll cast her for Alicia masters in the post sw sequel but idk. Her scenes were nice but added nothing

Yeah I agree she couldāve been cut. Iām sure they were scared that if they cut her thereād be even less Thing scenes. I mean that early scene of him first meeting her looked the least finished in the whole movie. Wouldnāt be surprised if that was added last to give Ben a small story arc
So the baby revived her?
Franklin can literally do anything he wants
I was surprised by the lack of humor. Not complaining but if any Marvel property lent itself to the typical MCU humor its Fantastic 4. Especially since most general audiences know the characters from the 2000s movies
OP ahh powers
Powerhouse
A comic nerd told me this was basically just the babys origin story, makes sense why they didnt wanna blow their whole load in the first movie then
Wasn't explicit until she came out of nowhere and pushed Galactus' s*** in. If there was a change of heart, it would have to have happened off screen. Because the last we saw of her, she was still on the "just give up the child" train.
If she wasn't on that wave after talking to Johnny, I would have loved to see that confrontation with Galactus, but it was probably a victim of the significant portions of this movie that were cut in the editing room.
She did tell Galactus āheās just a childā and he demanded her to go get it. Thatās when she went down and we got that Johnny confrontation and flashback scene and she flies away. I think thatās enough for audiences to see sheās having a change of heart without having to be told imo
Galactus was coming no matter what. Either to eat the planet or take the baby. After another Surfer failure he probably decided to see if he could take Franklin before destroying the planet
Reed absolutely did not need to tell the people about the ultimatum
Bro canāt lie for s***. They kinda set it up with Ben commenting about it when he guesses correctly about the pregnancy
