I love doomsday movies so this was right up my alley
Movies like that used to scare the f*** out of me up until after 2012 was over

lol makes sense, bruh idk why I enjoy them. Don’t Look Up is another one
But yeah this was a refreshing genre for the MCU to tackle
I think they came up with the absolute peak that is the neutron star sequence and then feige was like “dude this is amazing so far! What happens next?” And the head writer was like “next?”
Looks like Disney is ok with the box office?

Had a third watch and I can better articulate my emotional experience while watching this movie: it feels like a fun chore to watch. The plot along with its beats is not very grabbing, the story itself is not moving in any direction, the dialogue isn’t engaging or entertaining besides a line or two here or there.
Oh and the look of the film? I’m not into the production design or style of lighting aesthetically, although the contrast and LUT are pretty to look at, also it has good composition. My big problem though on my eyes is the lack of anything really being done with the camera; there’s no real shots that stick with me in here (the same can be said for the lines of dialogue). It’s almost depthless if not for the LUT itself and juuuuust alright amount of depth in that bokeh
I like the acting of the actors, I’d say they’re doing the heavy lifting here with their effort at these bland characters and plain dialogue but that’s not enough. A handful of cool power moments and action shots is not enough. Virtuous moral moments and hard character decisions with nice score cues are nice though
And where the F*** is the choreography man? Everybody is just flailing around or flying straight or some s*** while the environment cgi does all the work for style. This movie has no f***ing style
