I don't think people actually played Bloodborne if they say anything in this game is an asset flip.

Especially someone posting a CGI reveal trailer.

  • Apr 2, 2025

Plus steampunk from soft is what ive always wanted them to do so i may be slightly biased as well. There's some vampire/werewolf representation too that has me intrigued

They gon slime u but yea tbh

    Someone has to be honest.

FromSoft has made DeS, DaS 1, 2, 3, Sekiro, Bloodborne, ER, and AC6.
When has FromSoft ever released such a lackluster trailer in the heroes of this franchise? Maybe Nightreign?

Yeah, I guarantee the calculus was to do the least amount of effort because they're creating a game for a console with outdated specs. This s*** is not normal fare for FromSoftware.

Again, its miyazaki. Elden ring was built on a lot of reused asset too, thats how they've been operating for 13 years now. This is a from soft game directed by THE from soft guy, not a forced game imposed on younger inexperienced directors or outsourced to someone else.
And bloodborne debut trailer was cgi not gameplay lol. I agree that its brilliant and shows the great art direction of from software, but this trailer showed gameplay and some great art direction too.
And the console it releases on has no bearing on its quality. Nintendo has had bayonetta for a decade, its not like miyazaki has to alter his vision for family friendly Nintendo. He's the president of from software and has full freedom in choosing what to make and for who to make it.
You don't have to be hyped, but the man has a spotless track record. If anyone deserves trust its him.
Im willing to be more skeptical if subsequent showings, previews and reviews are negative, but doubting miyazaki for now feels like doubting kojima, aonuma or fumito ueda. There are some artists you just gotta let cook

The difference is that Elden Ring was debuted with much fanfare and had a cohesive vision like all their other game debuts.

Almost all of their trailers/teasers are CGI

And that's the point. They clearly don't care as much about this game than they do their other entries. Hell, we didn't even know this s*** was in the oven until the gameplay trailer.

The console it releases on definitely has a bearing on the quality of the game. Nintendo has had Bayonetta for a decade. Bayonetta is not DMC5 lmao

DMC5 has probably sold more than the first two Bayonetta games combined man.

And you should believe your eyes instead of having some good faith assumption in a company that makes content. I definitely doubt Kojima, this bum got a budget for MGSV and released an unfinished game with a bad story.

It's the equivalent of having blind faith in CDPR when they release CP2077, and at least with that game, you had a good reason to trust them based off just trailers alone.

Duskblood is a better name, I ain’t calling this s*** the duskbloods

I woulda preferred Duskblood as well, but regardless I am glad to see such a strong Bloodborne influence from the actual Bloodborne director himself.

I can’t believe we got bloodborne 2 and it’s a switch exclusive? I wonder what sony thinks of this

Can’t imagine they care since they’ve left the IP abandoned since its release

Elden ring had fanfare because it was a single player game with George R R Martin writing, of course it was more hyped. And again, you're assuming s*** based on nothing but vibes. Game definitely has artistic cohesion, goth/steampunk inspired with vampires and werewolves, both creatures connected to night, the moon and blood. Bloodborne was gothic, 1800s london inspired with lovecraft creatures ffs, and that too ended up being very cohesive in the end.
Bayonetta 2 is widely considered one of the best action games of all time btw, on par with dmc 3 in terms of impact and quality so idk what you're talking about there, and has no censoring or suppressed artistic vision. Funnily enough, only Nintendo was willing to fund that game. I think the same happened here, miyazaki had a crazy idea but needed someone to fund it and Nintendo was the most willing to help him.
And mgs5 is like top 2 kojima games in terms of gameplay, fantastic and highly replayable game. He definitely deserves trust, unlike cdpr which had in their resume only one great game before cyberpunk.

To end this discussion, if you think this project isnt important to them, then i don't want to hear your opinion on ds3. Miyazaki was basically forced to go back to that series after what 2 did, this clearly came from his desire to make a multiplayer game and a bloodborne spiritual successor in his own way

It's a pattern of behavior because FromSoft releases like one flagship title a year to much fanfare.

The thing all the previous titles have in common is these grandiose cinematic trailers that usually precede the official gameplay trailer.

Their is a clear level of intentionality when they made their prior entries and their was a level of spectacle when they would be announced.

Even like BOTW debut trailer is like this.

So for FromSoft who usually engages in some level of spectacle to just drop some lazy gameplay trailer off grip for a weaker console... Yeah, Fromsoft is definitely working on another concept that is likely not going to release on the Switch 2.

Oh i get it, that would've been amazing. But if It hasn't happened, even with this, i take it as miyazaki just not being interested. Maybe their next single player game? I wonder if miyazaki is directing more games at once
