World hasn’t changed much since LNCL to the trailer drop to now. It makes sense why he delayed it.
I CALLED IT IN THE OTHER THREAD TOO someone tried roasting me for it. Bare mans b****ing about delays lol we got a whole TAPE before the album.

We knew the album has been in progress since late 2018
We knew Drake wanted to drop the album summer 2020.
We knew the album was 80% done last June 2020
The first single was released in August 2020 along with the Album title
A CLB clothing line was dropped in September
Drake announces in a trailer CLB is releasing CLB 2021
Drake tears his meniscus in December 2020
Drake takes a two week vacation in December - January 2021
Drake announces the album has been pushed back within 2021
This should tell us a couple things.
- He's not happy with the finished product
- The leaks recently have been a major part of the album
He's not waiting for COVID, or touring, or someone else to drop. He's not happy with it or the leaks are indeed album songs. Yes we've gotten songs and a mixtape last year but this release has been beyond sloppy, disappointing, and just not up to Drake standards. 40 has to be pissed. Drake tracks never leak. He's become sloppy or his team has.
This is disappointing as a stan. The news yesterday confirmed there is some hype as he was trending on Twitter and IG. The fact that he announced it the same day as a new president gets sworn in is interesting. He did that on purpose.

Jan 21, 2021After the initial wave of news has kinda passed I’m cool with him taking his time but I don’t see why people are coming at others who are obviously disappointed by the news as it’s not like it was speculation there were two specific timeframes given and they’ve both been moved on now. It’s been a shaky rollout but if the music is good it will always save it. He’s gotta come correct when it drops or any flack it receives will be hard to argue against considering the amount of time put in to the new album. Just my two cents

Would you prefer knowing literally nothing about the album?
That was never Drake's approach, so I don't see how that would be a better approach when he had successful rollouts throughout his career.
