sonic youth is good. it was my favorite band from the 1980s besides pixies in my early 20s. if i really want to listen to something that is punk, alternative, or experimental, i rather listen to the velvet underground or the stooges. i'm 35 years old now and sonic youth doesn't sound as good to me as when i was younger. they were an influence to so many alternative rock and indie rock bands that came afterwards, especially nirvana who i like more and sounds so much better to me.

They’re not my favorite band tbh I’m more of Dinosaur JR fan but I don’t really f*** with a lot of the bands in the “Big 6” like that. I don’t mind their music..but I associate those bands with my introduction into the genre watching VH1 I love the___. They are all legendary bands and have “classics” but I don’t care to listen to them as much as my favorite bands
