one of the rare times ātil i die was played live - brian and his band

they seemed to have picked on the alternative mix version for this performance
Solomon Burke (rip) one of the most underrated artist of his era as he help made rnb is and is a founding father king of soul music, yet doesnāt get as much the credit he deserves
he passed away in 2010 after suffering for a whole of health issues, he had to be in a wheelchair due to his weight but still rocked shows internationally sitting on a throne on stage
either way in 2002 he recorded and released āDonāt Give Up On Meā -which won best rnb album at the grammys none the less and had one of its song used on The Wire thatās on @Bad_Finger_Boogie - and what makes this one stand out is that there is some covers of unreleased songs of big names, such as āStepchildā by Bob Dylan, a song Bob premiered live in 1978 and abandoned it there and never did anything with it afterwards.
but more importantly and what interests us here is the following one, a Beach Boys cover.. and even if you try to have a guess at it you could NEVER come up with the right one as itās so left field
iāve already mentioned the song story and posted itt but in 1996 Brian got back with the boys to make an original Beach Boys album, this would be the last session before Carlās passing in 1997.
two songs made the cut before the sessions were called off, and they are stellar new and original classic Brian songs he did with his great collaborator Andy Paley: one is āYouāre Still A Mysteryā that calls back to a more Pet Sounds type
and the other is āSoul Searchināā a soul type song with Carl on the lead vocals despite going through chemo treatement to fight his cancer absolutely kills this performance
!https://youtu.be/bsgTlCrgbGU(thereās many other outstanding songs Brian and Andy both wrote and recorded during this era in this lvl of quality that couldāve made the album if the sessions kept on going and wouldāve been an incredible come back)
since it all got shelved away, these songs have been bootlegged thankfully but theyāve never done anything with it, not even for the 2012 comeback (and most likely final Beach Boys) album!! wth? altho Brian did use Soul Searchinā on one of his solo album, these two songs finally got an official release in 2013 on the big boxset āMade In Californiaā in honor of the bands 50th anniversary.
but yes, this is what the Solomon Burke picked! Soul Searchinā! the soul song and final Beach Boys song with Carl Wilson that was back then unreleased and boy did he not phone it, he made that song his, a classic soul felt jam:
!https://youtu.be/w-AUPzurfDMand every time he performed live up until his death would make an introduction to it praising Brian and the boys ālast night if you missed The Beach Boys you missed a treatā āŗļø
did you guys know about this @Fantasy @Elric @SoHelpMeDog @Teal_ @Lawdie @Noir @BlackStar

If you look closely, the entrance is further in than the door, just like on the SMiLE Store. Also, there is a smile above the entrance, plus the windows i could be reaching but it wouldn't surprise me
