    not really

i mean i was familiar ig i mustve heard wouldn’t it be nice or i get around here and there

but ngl i got on late, u know it urself ur close enough being from belgium, growing up in france - the bbs aren’t part of our landscape

but idk i was starting listening to more and more bands and hearing echos of them and the greatness of pet sounds everywhere on every lists of goat albums always number one etc, so when i turned 20 i was in liverpool actually in beatles mode (which is also why i heard a lot of the beach boys and pet sounds ofc bc of the friendly crestive rivalry etc) and i went to a record store and just bought every cds i wanted to treat myself that day - looked over pet sounds and thought what’s with this album... how is this album with this corny cover art:

    so beloved???

so i just picked it, curiosity won the best of me

saved the listen to when i got back in france - i prioritized listening to revolver by the beatles while i was still in liverpool to experience all the references they put through the lyrics that mentions liverpool spots i could visit

when i got around it, i was chilling playing GTA SAN ANDREAS

to give you an idea of the contrast if you havnt played the game ^ and thought it was a good time to blast pet sounds for the first time, again to give contrast:

as you can tell it was NOT a good combination to hear some 60s dudes singing about god while i was shooting gang territories

    so i was left perplexed

i skimmed through the cd booklet and was lost when i read some liner notes about how they just wanted to sing a song in prayer to god - i thought to myself what did i just got into is this some pro christianity music?

so yeah it didn’t take off then lol

it’s only when i got myself a good record player and my aunt was getting rid of her vinyls i got to pick which one i wanted to keep and noticed the compilation endless summer which ive seen a lot mentioned since i started trying to get in bbs and dk research

i didn’t even know how to operate a vinyl or record player just took the disc out laid it on there and put the needle on it at a random spot

little did i know the miracle ive started: i accidentally put the b side on the vinyl and landed the needle right onto this masterpiece of a deep album cut:

my world was blown away, my walls around me in my room vanished, felt down in sand, i was surrounded by a literal beach, i could feel the breeze in my hair, smell the ocean, hear the waves, feel the sand in my feet, hear the birds, hear the cute girls and kids laughters... yet i wasn’t there, i was just in my room

never experienced that ever since again - it’s the only time music on first listen impact gave me an instant d*** like experience and i wasn’t on d****

    I never got there lmao

My brother played it, finished it and I just picked up from there roaming the streets, racing and running over pedestrians for money

The only mission I remember involved shooting some pizza delivery guy...

Why? Idk. and I don't think I accomplished that either
