I listened to Holland and loved it. Excellent album. Big Sur and the closing track are probably my favorites.

big sur is shockingly a mike love penned song, by far his best achievement - not just for the band but in his life ever lol

closing track is the only brian written contribution, i love it and think it’s a deeply underrated brian gem- it sounds unlike anything else at the time or ever - that’s how brian wilson it is! beautiful vocals by carl, love all the synths taking over in it if you like that appeal this track and its production is definitely a little tease of where brian was heading on for love you which is basically a solo album

kinda like how in the back of my mind on today! was a little entrée to the sounds that will be bright for pet sounds

the harmony on the intro the first seconds are such bbs homage

I listened to Pet Sounds so much after breaking up with my first real relationship of 7 years, and ruined the album for me.

Maybe I’ll be grateful in many years, and return to the album eventually, but it’s too hard for me to listen to right now.
