When I grow up up (to be a man)
Itās a great sounding song to me and it really makes me feel like Iām in the summer and itās somewhat nice today so it goes with the day.

Shut Down Vol 2 underrated too, not one of their best but people act likes its a waste of time outside Dont Worry Baby and maybe Fun Fun Fun. like half of it is really great imo

I was curious about this is there a shut down volume one, or something connected to this because this is one I donāt think I ever heard and I was almost thinking it was a compilation honestly and now Iām definitely gonna listen.

shut down vol 1 was a compilation release by capitol with the bbs featured on it so to capitalize off of it marketing they made a new original bbs after that named shut down vol 2 altho itās all beach boys and original
new song - itās lame but thatās how it was in the sixties in unlike the uk who was ahead of the game to make albums with less fillers and loophole label gimmicks like this, thatās why the beatles had different releases in the us and in uk

Iām really glad you told me this, because I wouldāve flew past this album if not for the fact of you telling me because honestly I was thinking this was just a compilation. Well Iām definitely gonna be listening to that soon. That is really dumb though thatās for sure on capitols behalf. Makes me remember something my stepdad actually used to have a friend who used to work as manager for EMI which is the Canada version of Capitol records, He would always be around capitol artists I wonder if he ever met any of the Beach boys Iāll have to find out.
ty for sharing this info with me brother.

-amazing set of lyrics
-amazing set of lyrics
Very amazing set of lyrics, the album plays flawlessly even the end for being an outro of them talking about eating food itās very atmospheric and just adds a very epic experience to such an epic album.
Paul Weller: I was coming back in the car and heard The Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" and it's only about 3 minutes but it's almost a whole sort of album. There's so many changes and turns and twists and musical things going on. There's a challenge about that, fitting all the stuff, that information into two-and-a-half or three minutes. As a kid growing up in the sixties, you liked that sort of brevity, and I still think it's a great art form to do that.
I love The Beach Boys - the first record I ever had, I didn't buy myself but it was bought for me by my Dad from Heathrow Airport. We use to go on a Sunday night sometimes and watch the planes take off. Seriously that was before colour TV. That was the highlight.
Anyway we use to go to Heathrow and he bought me this album, which I haven't still got but I bought another copy. This is like a cheap MFP compilation and it's got a wicked sleeve. A huge Green wave and 2 surfers on it. But the whole image of The Beach Boys, sort of West Coast, sunshine, surfing and sea. That really caught my imagination as a kid. This is a great, beautiful track this ...
-Plays The Beach Boys āForeverā off of Sunflower-
Is your clock an hour fast?
Paul Weller: Yeah, Summertime
(Laughing) Summertime?
Paul Weller: Yeah Babe, I hate Winter
It's Beach Boys isn't it?
Paul Weller: Well it is Surrey technically but Summertime, yeah.
he also namedropped āfriendsā as his favorite beach boys album but canāt trace it back, he a real one either way
still canāt recommend this album enough for pet sounds lovers - the guy behind this masterwork was supposed to work with brian with a beach boys 90s return to form comeback album
