ok so now Animals sounds too similar to wywh and i guess some people just cant f*** with those song lengths for a whole album

Never heard this, that’s crazy! I think I’m too used to the way it was released to have a strong opinion on if they should’ve kept this, it’s very catchy without it

i said wywh sounds far greater by the simple factor despite it is indeed a roger conceptual themed album the over layout of the synth work makes it exciting and new at that point and time in their career and the acoustic slow stuff cool and that animals has none of that effect

you said animals is the same just more subtle synth work and what not

and i said that’s great you see it - im saying it’s not bc it’s there that it’s automatically that the magic is recreated - it worked once and it was new and cool and didn’t the second as you bring you the similarity point and quality to which i say it’s just more slow and more boring

but yeah that’s a different one, they did a remix there and i love it man - the bbs community is great at still coming up with new stuff to make these songs new again

if that can make you feel better: i already mentioned this but i have spent YEARS almost day by day documenting everything about smile, meeting someone then being presented to some other people and more and more stories on how and why or what and when of this and that, from the very start of before smile was or how it was conceived to when it was officially shelved, every tiny bits of infos and details of every takes of every songs and their differences, it was intense

The core melodies they built those ten minute monoliths on are just nowhere near as touching as the ones on WYWH

yeah it’s a bbs album they do all the harmonies and adlibs
