DonutHoleOkay I'm watching this interview Ithaka linked earlier on
Aaaaand wooooow yeah they left out alot of stuffwhat they left out the most outside the landy extra stuff is
well basically the movie is structured as such as you get brian young in the sixties to understand how it all started and went downhill but then you jump onto the brian after older in the end 80s early 90s and while he’s trying to being helped he’s kept prisoner and abused and they trying to get him free off of that
but the movie basically moves away from the 70s which is where brian was hurting and damaging the most out of his hell and demons
but it is a movie and how they structured it is prolly the best and most efficient - start and end, and show the middle in quick pieces to not drag on, they cover the essential key parts for a storytelling format

my only issue of the movie is the romanticizing of his wife
im gonna sound like a woman hater lol like she got him out of landy but also herself ended up making brian what she wants out of it business wise so it’s a bit hypocrite altho it isn’t dangerous so it’s fine, im just not a fan of her altho i can see why she deserves a hero role - but so does carl who was the one who pushed to take the whole landy bs to court and get brian free off of it, i believe the movie briefly mentions this as a phonecall and gives melinda the credit which is heh, downplaying brians brother caring and support to save him but ig the love story had to have be more romantic and central part
still amazing movie one of the most interesting hollywood one as it’s made in a very not hollywood way

this is cool it goes into details of the landy era
also ive mentioned it before but it’s lost in the thread by now, ill bring it up again even tho it’s not factually tracable and so something no one wants to talk about but i know for sure it’s true if my word is relevant: brian tried commit suicide during this time
while landys bodyguards had a moment of inattention brian took the opportunity to run to the beach (his house landy took over was by the beach) and swim until he would drown, landy big arms thankfully (ironic i know) caught on time and got brian back, it is believe that brian did this to find dennis again, more so spiritually
it’s dark and you won’t find this anywhere else because it’s close source that isn’t documented or spread but i believe it’s as real as it gets

I need to buy a vinyl player and start to collect some vinyls as well. This just reminded me again brother.meant to pull up with my living room arrangement the other day when we were talking about vinyl. Surfs Up looks perfect up there
