cant believe these two new original incredible songs - one is classic soul doowop with beautiful carl vocals on lead and the other a classic pet sounds ish brian song with brian on the lead - and the whole sessions for a new album all together was scrapped but then they made stars and stripes

a crime against humanity, a tragedy, they never even tried to used these songs again, why not put the carl song on the comeback album in memory of carl??? they are both amazing and their best material in more than a decade

apparently carl didn’t see any commercial value and turned it down, but they went ALL in for stars and stripes did a whole documentary with it they really thot they had one??? how delusional??? they think ppl wanted to hear a country collaboration of bbs hits????

i will say this tho willie nelson on warmth of the sun does make for an interesting charming contrast , that’s the best ill ever give to stars n stripes lol

since today is sunday here is one of the boys best deep album cut hidden gem ppl be sleepin on: a classic brian written and produced phil spector inspired track with carls vocals

that mightve been the first one i bought but i already knew all the early hits

going from knowing nothing about them to Pet Sounds would be jarring like when i foolishly dove straight into Exile and Highway 61

i HIGHLY doubt @RoomOnFire never heard of california girls, surfin usa, etc

if so then pick an early hits compilation (i can look up which one works best) then listen to today! THEN pet sounds

i learned a long time ago that youll appreciate a goats magnum opus better if you work your way toward it in increments
