my first beach boys experience was the endless summer compilation which i got from my aunt when she was getting rid of her collection and pass it on me

i didn’t know how to work a record player or how to play a vinyl, i put a random side and put the needle in a random spot, didn’t think much of it and played it

it happened to be on “the girls on the beach” and from that very moment i was hooked and instantly stanned, i was in my room and all the harmonies immediately took over my reality; all my walls, ceiling vanished into air and suddenly i was sent to a california beach, i could feel the wind going through my hair, the sand in my toes, the kids screaming, the smell of the ocean, the feel of the breeze, the sounds of the waves crushing, the sun hitting on my skin

it was unreal and the only time music right off the bat took me away like that, i have no idea away how but it’s one of my favorite musical memory ever, unmatched

this whole instrumental talk earlier itt @RVI and now this pixies story reminds me of this

in the 90s brian met with andy paley (originally from paley brothers who he did with his brother, 70s power pop) and they wrote some amazing songs together, some very brian stuff and some pet sounds inspired call backs for an album that never came to be unfortunately even tho brian did want to send theses to the beach boys

either way one of them is this piece that i love, very pet sounds dressing type with a surfy guitar and brian doing harmonies on top of it, imagine what could’ve been with the bbs...

from the same sessions, phenomenal, how is this still unreleased, why they didn’t even use it for the comeback album is beyond my comprehension
