Best sound and best score also absolutely deserve a nomination imo.
The film sounds incredible
And I think Colin Farrell should get a best supporting nom.. and I'd love for Reeves to get a best director nod but I'll be surprised if they do nominate a comic film for that . Reeves directed the hell out of the movie though
Forgot how hard the score goes, theme especially.
Those technical categories definitely deserve noms imo, can't think of many this year that have done better
This could mirror how Dune did this year at the Oscars

really liked the movie
but if this movie doesn't win everything im gonna be pissed

I absolutely think Pattinson should get a best actor nom
“‘Penguin’ will sit immediately after the end of ‘The Batman’ and temporally before the events of the second movie. The show will come out in between the two movies. Now beyond that, it’s fun for the audience to know that it will be a bridge between the two, but the actual release date, I’m not at liberty to say.”
“The goal of this is to show what Oz’s life is like and that’s very much in the streets of Gotham, trying to get up and over as only the Penguin can. As a hustler and a strategist with his own ambitions. It is a great example of having the time over eight episodes to tell a longer-arc character story with a lot of delicious twists and turns and new characters. It’s very much going to be about Gotham at that street level, because he’s not flying around like Batman does. We are all embracing that as a very specific experience for audiences to have.”

Mattson (co-writer) updated his Twitter headed with a character that looked like Robin. Ended up being a panel form a Boom Studios comic
KTT wouldn’t let me delete the post lmao
Look, as long as you let Matt cook and use Rob ONLY in crossovers it should be fine
As much as I LOVE The Batman I don’t want another ultra realistic Batman franchise. There is a way to keep the feel of the film while also at least getting a little out there.
The DCEU really didn’t explore the Batman mythos either
Plus, this would effectively get rid of Jared Leto
Harley is pretty much her own character now so she’s gonna be over with the Suicide Squad
We technically don’t know what the DCU is gonna be like with this fresh start so i’m not even worried about this
the first iron movie was grounded and still fits well with the MCU
Y’all really think James Gunn isn’t gonna let Matt do what he wants?
Please tell my why this could be a bad thing besides “I don’t want it” or “It doesn’t fit the world”
It’s happening

It’s happening

We should note that Matt originally planned to have Superman and Wonder-woman Halloween costumes in The Batman

It got cut, but it still made it from writing/pre production to shooting. He removed it but idk if he’s AS against this as people think. If he’s agreeing to it, he sees how it can work.
When it’s revealed that Matt Reeves is the creative lead of the Batman/Gotham side of the universe just like James Gunn was supposed to be the creative lead of the cosmic MCU before he got fired

Feel like it would be tonally jarring to have this version of Batman exist within whatever DCU has planned
Though, each director applying their own style and tone to these characters is kinda what I wanted from the DCU ultimately
My fear is that reeves shrinks down his current plans for a bigger Batman universe in favor of joining the DCU. I’m also not interested in seeing any crossovers in the Batman universe
Idk I just think things will get messy

What is this supposed to mean? I mean it’s clearly just a fun Easter egg considering Batman is a DC character. For all we know, WW and Superman could’ve been fictional characters in that universe and Batman is the only superhero
