Can someone explain to me how movie studios are still like “ok we just made a movie that did great, let’s take 3 years to get the next one out”

Like you would think studios would prioritize striking while the irons hot over quality or taking their time which wouldn’t be great

But the world moves way too fast today for this to still be the pace of movies

This ain’t a Kendrick Lamar album

it's delayed by scheduling (big actors already signed up for other movies) and post production + CGI take time

If it’s just the script I get it

But once that script is done they should have every actor there to start filming the next day

    F*** schedules

I want the sequel badly too, but thats just too unrealistic lol

You still gotta submit the script to the studio, do script readings, rehearsals etc

I just feel like there’s gotta be a way for studios to streamline these things a bit more for the modern era

Imo time moves too fast now to tell a story over 10 years in 3 installments. And the fact we’re so far removed from the snyderverse fiasco and still are barely moving out of it is just crazy to me that they haven’t been able to get on course fully yet

Yea it does suck it will take so long for DC to really get things going.
But the studio rushing things and having too much control over production is why DC is in the bad position it is now.

The only way to guarantee we get great films is if WB finally lets these directors take their time to cook.

But I believe Gunn is about to get things rolling for the DCU. Let's just hope the 4 DC films we get next year will be good

I feel like it's the fact that in a normal non-COVID world, The Batman would have been out June 2021 that you guys are completely overthinking a 3 year break. Us having seen a classic teaser trailer in 2020 didn't help either

Nothing about this coming in 2025 is odd. Sure you can force your director/writers to prep things faster or assign extra people to speed things along, but do we really wanna go the studio mandate route again?

And before you all hold them to what the media simply forecasted, all they said was "earliest." 2025 was not a Reeves promise lol

Nah 3 years just make sense I just thought one of the shows would drop this year or early next to cover the gap . All season 1 of tv shows has to drop its just about spacing there

  • Nov 8, 2022

It's not really like Dune either where the material and route the story has to go is readily available. But even with that the 1st one got delayed a full year despite being completed. They had to wait 3 years between productions too

I think they (or rather rumors/media) did too much letting us know about the shows in advance. The first one they let us know about transformed like twice now and then for Penguin, Colin is busy year-round and the show only got an official green light in March

I also don't think Reeves cares about gaps as much as the studio would if they were in control

I’m gonna be 30 and really none of us know if we’ll be here for it

And I don’t really give Kendrick a pass either

Life is too short. Doesn’t help that DC has nothing else going for it and it’s been a sad decade plus as a DC fan

Say what you want about marvel but the fact dc still hasn’t been able to adapt or learn is insane

It really is a drake and Kendrick situation where the one with more potential is squandering it while the one that gives people what they want absolutely laps the competition

Marvel pumping out subpar at the moment though

3 years is a bit too long, I think 2 might be better but I also don’t think the movie is even close to being done and I think rrrves might be extra picky about it instead of DC

I think he has some contract with them where he can do whatever he wants

I feel like people are forgetting the 3-4 year waits for each Nolan sequel, let that boy cook

Last thing you want is for them to just rush another movie out

One of my buddies is mad at House of The Dragon too for not dropping until 2024 but quality doesn’t happen over night.

I know a lot of people who:

Didn't know batman begins existed until after DK dropped

Hadn't seen it until way later.

    Still haven't seen it.

And these people still see bale as thee batman. It's interesting

I don’t think Batman Begins is the best Batman movie but I think it’s the best depiction of Batman we’ve gotten so far.

Best sound and best score also absolutely deserve a nomination imo.
    The film sounds incredible

And I think Colin Farrell should get a best supporting nom.. and I'd love for Reeves to get a best director nod but I'll be surprised if they do nominate a comic film for that . Reeves directed the hell out of the movie though
