Now we need the main villian casting, cmon Reeves

  • Feel like he'll end up the subject of an investigation which requires Gilda and Christopher to deconstruct his personality and background rather than just being used for for as the standard DA turned villain. Maybe he's Dent throughout or maybe he's already Two-Face in hiding, and Gilda needs Batman's help.

Struggling otherwise to understand the need for Dent in a world that just got rid of the Falcones, Maroni's and has a a mayor with an anti-corruption agenda. This was what he dedicated years of his life to doing in comics before Batman even appears. Reeves and LeFranc already wiped out the era of Gotham he traditionally is placed in, and even gave Bella Real the function of his campaign

There's going to be a twist here and i feel like Reeves is banking on fans theorizing basic Dent storylines as cover

    We already have them

Nooo way. Reeves already said we’re getting a story we haven’t seen in live action yet

And I can bet Harvey won’t become Two Face till Part 3

We getting a story we haven’t seen but that doesn’t mean entirely new villains

I mean regardless Harvey Dent is never the primary villain of the story he first appears in. If we knew him already, maybe, but that's not the case here.

In a lot of the other films, which I love, once you get past the origin tale, which we didn’t quite do, but we did something that referred to his origins, then you start telling the Rogues Gallery story and that character’s sort of arch,” Reeves said. “But I never wanted to lose Robert Pattinson at the center of these stories, and so that is really what we set our aim on.”

The “Cloverfield” director explained that the sequel’s new angle was a crucial consideration when selecting the villain. He teased that the antagonist for “The Batman Part II” has “never really been done in a movie before.”

I'd see this more if Gilda and Christopher Dent weren't rumored for this though. What reason would Bruce/Batman have to see these characters? Like its not like Stan's Dent will be in solo scenes with his wife and/or dad if this is continuing The Batman's style.

If his wife and dad are there then they're likely actively exploring the nature of his split identity and past abuse. Would be hard to avoid him turning or having already turned if so.

Then again Reeves said at Emmys this movie is about Bruce's story primarily rather than villain tales so it's gotta serve that to

edit: just saw you quoted him already
