They couldn’t outright say they planned to make Pattinson the DCU Batman from the birth of the DCU cause it would’ve loomed over everything and overshadowed the DCU. They’re easing us into it, letting us get acquainted with Superman and the universe before revealing DCU Batman aka Robert Pattinson
