Mattson Tomlin is his cowriter on this even tho he's often not named by Gunn and media. Batman 1 was only Reeves until he had Tomlin help out (but not enough to get a credit?) but now they wrote this full thing together

Tomlin wrote a pretty good DC Black Label book called Batman: The Imposter a couple years ago. He's def capable for this character and could enhance Reeves a bit. Still doesn't explain why they're this slow

There is the possibility that it needed a slight delay to get the script finished and because of Warner Bros slate of movies already on the schedule the next slot they had available for imax screens was 2027. They’ve been booking imax screens years in advance ever since Oppenheimer success with imax

WGA has weird rules about writing credits:

Original screenplay: The first writer on an original screenplay shall be entitled to screenplay credit if such writer’s work represents a contribution of more than 33% to the final shooting script. Any subsequent writer or writing team must contribute 50% to the final shooting script.
