    Bledsoe into Pray for Him

Top tier s***. This was like 2013 Rap Camp all over again.

Be Realistic still holds up very strong.

Def AOTY. Even over Larry's album.

As a huge Blu fan, no there’s a big difference. Blu does not have the same rhyme style, can you send even 3 Blu verses that stick with the same rhyme scheme for the whole verse?

The other part of it is Mike sticks with the same flow too. Every verse he spits, he picks one flow, one pocket and one rhyme scheme and just continuously repeats that scheme over and over until the end. Blu changes his flow and rhyme way more.

ehhh s*** like that could go back to kool g but i do agree the way he keeps his flow and scheme throughout is not common rn

Do you got a Kool G verse you would mention off top for this? Of course he was a rhyme innovator as far as multi syllables but from my listening I thought he usually changes rhymes throughout a verse

Eminem is lowkey the only person I heard really make songs where the rhyme scheme doesn’t change once, but he does it in a way that feels a little forced where Mike is able to make it feel like a really natural flow

    2 words: rhyme schemes

Never before Mike has there been someone who rhymes this much

All of his verses on this album and basically on all albums, he says one sentence and then rhymes every syllable continuously for the entire verse and never changes the rhyme scheme

It’s just relentless. I shouldn’t even be dropping these jewels right now because he has changed my view of rapping more than anyone since doom, he’s that innovative, his style is completely unprecedented

I would say Wiki has done this before. The evidence is Be Realistic.

Blu has done this before, WTK and Ka too.

well yea agreed i simply said he’s like the only one other than maybe mach hommy that currently maintains flow and scheme

truthfully nah i’ve always known g to keep a flow but not rhyme the same s*** from start to finish so if there’s anything to be said it’s a rare skill fasho

Whatever the case it’s insanely impressive that MIKE raps the way he does while still sounding like an amateur, like not in the sense that he sucks in way whatsoever, but in the sense like it really sounds like a homie venting or talking to you

I could definitely see it being a knock for some lol I think it depends on how you look at it. But mike’s dedication to that style is very striking to me is all, I think he’s truly unique in that way. It’s impressive to me how he’s able to pull it off

I’m not saying it makes him better than Blu (he’s not) I was just responding to the idea that Blu’s style was similar which I didn’t really agree with

blu definitely does same rhyme scheme but definitely not same flow.

I f***s with it too tho. MIKE definitely one of the greats in the new class.

Does he do it as much as mike though? I feel like for the most part he switches rhyme schemes every 4-8 bars like most rappers do but maybe I missed some stuff.

Mike just really sticks out with how consistent he is with this very specific style

Alc and Kool G Rap. Both of their verses.

Droog and Left Lane Didon's verses.

It really feels like Al is just showing off and having fun at this point. Scribble Jam is ridiculous. It's so hard to pick a favorite beat on this. I catch something new each listen. One More is an even better song in the context of this album too, f***. I'm a couple dabs deep this morning blasting this and just blown away.

Lyrically Wiki is better than MIKE bar for bar

If you a hardcore hip hop head you know what I’m talmbout

At the same time, MIKE has been at his most lyrical too and his storytelling is getting g more and more vivid d, they both growing a lot every release

Nah not at all. MIKE is a top 5 rapper.

There's only a handful of Wiki projects, specifically speaking about this and Telephoneboth, where Wiki is laser sharp. The rest of the time his verses and songs seem to go on and on with no clever punchlines or storytelling to hook the listener in.

  • Sep 24, 2023

I think the only other projects that could top this this year is Armand Hammer and that Crown Nation x ALC project if it drops in 2023 lord willing. I know those will sound crazy

  • Sep 24, 2023

You know, I’ve complained about this before but I can say it again after relistening to the new one

I really want an insight on what Eddie Sancho’s mixing process is, because it’s fascinating how he gets stuff to sound so professionally compressed and bad sounding. I don’t get how someone of Alc’s caliber can hear how awful the mix on something like Pray For Him sounds and approve it

Great Escape didn’t have this problem, Haram didn’t have this problem. It’s just the ones that Eddie does

(and no, it’s not intentional for this one since Mike and Wiki are usually lo-fi or whatever. EVERYTHING he touches sounds bad)
