It's funny that the poster boy for hipsters is from Texas of all places Mr Wes Anderson

Also one of the best bands of all time the 13th Floor Elevators really seem like they would have been from the West coast

F***ing A. For some reason I always felt that the hipsters here weren’t even born here

Had a girl tell me I can’t be from Texas cause I act too Californian & don’t enjoy the usual Texan grub

Somebody recommend me Dallas or Houston for a single male in his 20’s.

    For the Dallas area…

Deep Ellum: indie/rock/hip hop scene, lots of people just running around bar hopping. Personally that area is the image of the young crowd in Texas today (besides 6th street in Austin).you’ll meet tons of people from different groups of the northern area & it’s just a melting pot. There’s homeless people and an occasional fight/shootout but besides that it’s cool to hang at, just the parking and getting out is a b****

Uptown: its very nice but also boujee to a point if you have sneakers/jeans/hat you can’t get in. You’re gonna see lots of rich 20’s that are fresh from the college greek lifestyle. Only suggest this spot if you have the cash and enjoy the yuppie crowd. I always feel like I don’t fit in when I’m there lol

Yeah also I'm not a Linklater stan but Slacker changed my whole perception on Texas cause that generation looked exactly the same in Vancouver

    Good looks.

Uptown sounds exactly like my college town when I was in college. I can afford it, but I’m not about to be wearing khaki shorts and boat shoes to get into anywhere.

Deep Ellum sounding like the vibe.

You’ll love it, have fun and be safe out there homie, some solid rooftop places there too like Wits End, Greenroom & some other fancy spot

I live in burbs of Houston, but it takes me 15 mins to drive in.

I love it and probably will retire here tbh after I move out and do s***.

It's fun if you put the effort

I like to go to the concerts, hang with homies in the popular spots like midtown and montrose, and then maybe go do a couple spin classes with the coworkers.

I draw and design a lot so I hang with a lot of creatives here as well
