i get by in school and im trying to get work right now, and i don't blame any of my shortcomings on teachers or public school and think i'm a god-like genius

To be fair though, the majority of the population works full-time jobs for decades and never makes anywhere close to 6 figure salaries. It's not specially restricted to teachers. Imo their pay could be better, but they also do have lots of benefits that most jobs don't give. I do think its strange professors get better pay than them though.

Good teachers are some of the most valuable members of a functioning society. They are underpaid for doing such a important role

you sure about that? my dad has worked for a fortune 100 company his entire life and when my mom was still teaching the family used her insurance.

my aunt who works for a school in an administrative position literally stays in the job because of the insurance benefits.

I have a coworker at my current job who always jokes about marrying her teacher boyfriend so she can get on his health care.

I mean I'm sure there are outliers in every situation I just find it hard to believe that every person close to me in the situation is an outlier.
