ive actually done some cool personal projects with vibe coding

i have no idea how to code but had chatgpt automate the process of tagging, converting, and sorting thousands of my moms old photos

also used chatgpt code to write a small program that lets me use a generic aliexpress smart plug to control my air conditioner from my phone from anywehre

and im currently using it to learn Unity

Its honeslty cool for little hobbies and s*** but the thought of using it for things that require actual security is crazy

Yeah dude GPT is insano for simple scripts. That s*** is my go to for trying to automate tasks. If what you're doing can be done through the cmd or powershell, it's gonna be a breeze.

I didn't feel like using those yt2mp4 converters cuz I thought they were sketchy, so I figured hey, it's all just code, lemme ask GPT how to make my own. It told me I can make a python script that can download any video/audio from a webpage at the max quality available (even 4k). (was using it to rip music and videos lol). It uses a python library called yt-dl or something.

but now I'm trying to make a e-commerce site for my mum with it. I'm so f***ing close to having a complete thing, but I CANNOT figure out the Stripe order redirect. Like after payment success, redirecting back to the site with their order to show them a success page with the order details (and also adding that record to the db so they have order history visibility).

Gonna have to go back to one of my checkpoints

So far it has a whole DB schema with the appropriate constraints and relationships (also row level security, so not publicly facing lol), a working product add/delete/edit page with picture upload and being able to select primary pictures, which show on the main page. A working profile info page, writing shipping info to the users db. Working login, along with admin routes so unauthorized users can't do what they shouldn't. And the checkout actually takes you to Stripe checkout properly, the issue is the redirect smh...

The idea is to have the app run completely for free and the only cost behind it will be the cost of the domain name (like 0.80 per month). I don't expect the user base to be insano or anything, so the free tier of the db and server I'm using should be enough (Supabase, Vercel running Vite + React). I used Chariot AI and showed it a pic of a site i liked, and it made a nice one that looked very similar (still unique). Built as many pages as I could before my free tokens ran out, then downloaded the site and started using GPT to build the rest (cuz Chariot AI doesn't even consider db logic, its strictly frontend/static).

This some s*** my boss showed me. He's been in web dev for like 30 years and was basically like "dude, it's never been easier to make a nice website."

It's mainstream lol. All the girls are huddling around this app like a campfire. If you're on this app with a rep sheet it's your fault

You don’t gotta have a rep sheet, you just gotta have an idiot ass ex

It's an anonymous message board known for its lack of censorship, and attracts nothing but bigots and doxxers as consequence. It's basically proof that all websites should be moderated or else they turn into s***holes.
