IMO he was making more interesting pivots on that track than he did with anything moving forward

Liked the album version more at first but the single is way classier, I like how it fades out in the outro too

It’s why I can’t even get mad at it, I’ve seen the direction he’s taken over time & made peace with it long ago. There’re current artists out there that do it for me the way his OG stuff did so I’m good here

I won’t lie tho this single kinda took me by surprise, wanted to go in with a blank slate but it just stinks. It’s insane how badly he’s been lapped by the other aussie guys like Pond & KG&TLW

The little lead in the opening seconds is incredible it’s a shame it’s only for like 5 seconds and buried under the track later on

The vocal chop/breakdown he does at like 2:40 is pretty bad/amateurish even tho this falls into the first “better” half of the track it sticks out like a sore thumb

One of my favorite songs of the year honestly

I keep spinning this single to see if my feelings change. The vocals take me out of it. Just seems like a melody he's done before, but less fit for this type of track. And the "feeling in my bones" part is less of an earworm for me than is probably intended. It only really begins to shine around the 5 minute mark for me with those choppy vocals or whatever you call em.

It does leave me interested to hear what follows. 2nd single
