What if he does pull another Patience w this and leave it off the album
that’s what i’m thinking tbh
I remember niggas not being so hot on Borderline as well when he put that out.
this lowkey better than Borderline
nahhh borderline is a vibe

Still dont know if i prefer single or album version 5 years later

the single fs. the flute during the chorus is what makes the song for me
nahhh borderline is a vibe
Now ya but comin off Currents it left more to be desired. Kinda like this

Crazy opinion when it's not even top 3 on the album!
them lyrics hit like 1000 daggers. in a state of missing my ex, but knowing my time up. Wow Kevin, talk about divine alignment
cant even hate
dude had a rough patch of years that
gave us a generational run of music that cemented him as a legend and went from small indie artist to one of the biggest live acts
ended up having a family and is probably just content with life and is now just gonna profit off the edm/rave demographic he garnered from the insane live shows
he's fundamentally making the same type of house that jamie does, what's hard to understand about that?
he's fundamentally not
No its not
The mixing is wayyyyy different, Jamie stuff sounds way clearer while this is very dusty sounding
The drum programming is much more straight forward than what Jamie does
Jamie relies heavily on samples this has no sampling whatsoever
Even the song structure isnt remotely similar to anything Jamie does
he's fundamentally not
so what type of house is each song. and don't copy q3d's answer either
so what type of house is each song. and don't copy q3d's answer either
Jamie primarily utilizes samples as the basis for all of his tracks
His leads are built around the samples & fill the space in between
Jamie's drums are much more intricate and use various forms of percs & drum samples
Jamie's mix is much more clean and his tracks follow a more formulaic structure
Jamie has more variety because he also collaborates with other artists to feature on his tracks, or through different vocal samples
Jamie's type of house, while formulaic, is still more experimental & technical in how it is layered and composed
Kevin's is based around a lead melody that carries throughout
Kevin's track is more progressive, especially in the way that it is structured, but instrumentally it is stripped back and a bit barren. Also, contains more pop elements.
Kevin's is much more compressed and still uses a lot of reverb to give it a more washed out psychedelic sound
Kevin's drums use a techno rumble
Kevin's is just 4 on the floor and the percussion is minimal
this dropping the same week forever 21 is really gone for good… chills…
RIP this would have done numbers in there
He ripped off Honestly Nevermind on this
I fw this
Yeah this is really good. Hope he sticks to his guns and puts out a full electronic/house inspired album like this. You can tell the negative reception to Patience made him retool The Slow Rush for the worse. You don't need the money man, drop a cool album and let the people find it when they're ready.
