what is the argument against housing being a human-right?

i'm intrigued, i'm not going to respond with vile vitriol or insults i'm generally curious as to why are people opposed to it?

Some questions I wasn’t sure how to answer.

Do I support Joe Biden? I mean I voted for him. So technically yes but he’s obviously not a great candidate.

Same goes with the do I support the Dem Party.... technically yes I do but I don’t consider myself a hardcore Dem

I’m not even sure what a Libertarian System would be.

@op , what do you mean by "support"? because I voted for Biden, but I don't really support him.

Yeah libertarian system is so vague and could be anywhere on the political spectrum

American “don’t tread on me” libertarians don’t count

The real reason why homelessness is allowed to occur in the richest country in the world is to scare people.

It is an economic gun to the head of the working class. Losing the ability to pay your rent means well you’re gonna sleep in the streets, you’re gonna sleep under an overpass, or there’s gonna be spikes on every flat surface to prevent you from doing anything other than lying in a gutter and then the cops are gonna come and beat your f***ing head in and set fire to your tent.

If that goes away and there was actually a safety net of social housing then it would prevent people from taking jobs on the terms of Uber or Doordash or some grocery store that says you have to work in a Covid hotspot getting coughed on for no benefits and s***ty pay.

(Please note I believe housing is a human right I'm just describing why our current capitalist system works against that idea)

Of course the weak welfare system is a major reason why, the money just isn't there for it. It's amazing how completely the welfare system was demolished by painting everyone on welfare as lazy or fraudsters.

What I am referring to in my post is the structural reason why that destruction had to happen in order to keep profits and military budgets high.

And homeowners not wanting social housing built near them is a symptom of the same issue where homeless people or people who need government assistance have been conditioned in our minds to be lesser than.

Do you think the problem is capitalism? I know you've given your structural a***ysis of the problem and why you believe it arises in our system. I'm fascinated in what you think a solution may be, as such high homelessness rates are an anomaly even for capitalist countries
