Where are you getting peacemaker season 1 from?
the emoji is a reference to an inside joke between peacemaker and vigilante (he always ended text messages to peacemaker with that emoji)
Still digesting, kinda can’t believe how good it was
The only thing I wish they did differently was have corensweat deliver a monologue speech about doing good for the sake of it, but other than that I thought it was genuinely brilliant
You need the other heroes because that is how you show to the audience how Superman is the ultimate hero figure that inspires the other heroes to be more like him
Maybe I’m reading into it too much, but did anyone else feel like the Justice Gang was a swipe at the MCU? “Militarized” heroes with a more grey version of morality that are lorded over by a mega corporation (Disney).
Real leader of the JL is not Supes tho
The way I see it Superman is just the face of the JL
I wish the “call me Chief” setup and payoff was more set up instead of being a one time background thing. That minor plot thread would’ve added to the feel good vibes of the movie
We needed at least one, closeup shot reverse shot prior where they do the bit. It would’ve smacked when Perry finally said “call me Perry”. Cause tbh it took me a second to remember what it was referring to when he said it
Perry was slightly undercooked, but there was a lot of moving pieces at the same time
The score
The Superman theme with the electric guitar really grew on me man the scene with the kids and the flag at the end still hit me second watch

It’s so good. Love that scene with green lantern too lmao. Also haven’t seen anyone say how Metamorpho was a damn dirt tornado.
Perry was slightly undercooked, but there was a lot of moving pieces at the same time
Seemed like it could’ve been more daily planet stuff
Jor-el really wanted superman to turn into Diddy and have freak offs.
Don’t really like this tbh

didn't think of that but DCU is kinda in the same situation (WB)
Think Gunn is tryna make the DCU seem cynical to metahumans (militarization, government overseeing those factions) to bolster the audience's view of Superman as the person who can inspire others
The part towards the end of his action scene where mr terrific grabbed the t sphere and let it carry him up was so cool man. So much great weight but also fluidity to it, did not like stiff or awkward.

More than slightly
Incredible movie, lived up the the hype, really don’t understand the critics of the film, one of the main criticisms is they don’t let emotional moments sit and rest, they always insert a badly timed joke at an inappropriate time - I literally was looking for this the whole movie and didn’t really find anything out of place, the pace was fast yes but they made their points and moved on to the next.
People also critique the scene where Lex infiltrates the Fortress of Solitude and has his helpers do his bidding, when engineer is splitting the robots right beside Lex’s skull and he doesn’t flinch, people say that looks fake or ridiculous, I actually took it as Lex’s arrogance on full display.
The only thing I didn’t really like was his Kryptonian parents sending him to earth to make a harem and spread his Kryptonian seed. Seems way over the top just for being over the top basically.
James Gunn getting better at emotional scenes and worse at comedic ones tbh
Guardians 3 and The Suicide Squad were better films
I feel the nature of those heroes fits Gunn’s moviemaking style better
this was an awesome superhero movie but idk felt like it was missing some bite
iconic ass superman shots and scenes tho ngl but it for some reason felt a little muted to me
also enough with the damn dog. shoulda just called it Superman & Krypto like i dont need to see this dog “stealing” any more scenes jesus christ im watching SUPERMAN
I want Jodie Comer ad Harley Quinn
if it's not Margot, i'd like to see Mia Goth be Harley
