No it's not. They made him tonally all over the place. Sometimes he feels like a real character while most other times he's this big goofy cartoon villain. It doesn't translate well in the big screen.

Jor-el really wanted superman to turn into Diddy and have freak offs.

Seems to be translating fine for most people

Only luthor issues I had were his little closeup rage face after the escape and maybe him crying at the end. I think both instances probably houle giving Gunn exactly what he asked for tho

Incredible movie, lived up the the hype, really don’t understand the critics of the film, one of the main criticisms is they don’t let emotional moments sit and rest, they always insert a badly timed joke at an inappropriate time - I literally was looking for this the whole movie and didn’t really find anything out of place, the pace was fast yes but they made their points and moved on to the next.
People also critique the scene where Lex infiltrates the Fortress of Solitude and has his helpers do his bidding, when engineer is splitting the robots right beside Lex’s skull and he doesn’t flinch, people say that looks fake or ridiculous, I actually took it as Lex’s arrogance on full display.
The only thing I didn’t really like was his Kryptonian parents sending him to earth to make a harem and spread his Kryptonian seed. Seems way over the top just for being over the top basically.

The Hammer of Borivia was such a cool character I thought. Awesome suit, like an iron man juggernaut suit, loved how after the superman logo pops up at the start, it jumps right to the Hammer destroying s***
