Dc cinematic Reddit became a Gunn snark reddit damn
Puff won but at what cost
It always feels like DC specifically is abnormally dependent on the results of test screenings. Like test screenings aren't rare but its only with them I have to keep hearing about them in some form. And they definitely do too many of them
They're supposed to be very quiet, confidential things you do to get feedback on elements of a film. Not necessarily hinging every decision on what a small sample size says.
Even Clayface we had to hear about 2 of these in like 3 weeks.
It is going to be harder to find directors that want to make DC movies. They messed up big time.
No self respecting director wants to have their vision meddled with by higher ups
Gunn should understand this better than the suits

Saw a clip of a movie podcast blasting the Supergirl movie, asking why a 50 year old British guy directing a Supegirl movie? Got me thinking but imagine a woman director got this movie and all this drama comes out.

Hey bro post that full Affleck quote you coward
Sick of that jackass using it like he’s insulting Gunn #ReleaseTheFullQuote
"I would not direct something for the Gunn DC. Absolutely not. I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that."
I dont know how the full quote makes it sound any nicer
Bro said Absolutely not lol
Media training ass answer of course he not going to flat out trash the guy

I think people are getting it confused. The problem with this movie wasnt the studio interference. Its not a syndercut situation, where the original was better.
The article says the original cut of the movie was recieved worse than the release cut and that Craig realized the movie wasn't working before the studio got involved. He was given creative freedom until it got to the point where they had to step in to salvage the situation.
The problem is that before the movie got made, either the script was lackluster, or Craig was just the wrong fit or a mix of both.

The feed back for the studio cut was a whopping 2 points better it’s not like they saved the movie or anything they just made it shorter which is usually what studios do when they have zero faith in the movie

Post was more so in response to people acting like the original was a hidden masterpiece that got ruined by studio intervention when that wasnt the case.
They were trying to saved a sinking ship and failed

I’m guessing those posts/tweets are trolling to reference the Snyder cut lol
That said one of the primary criticisms is the villain and cutting most of his scenes surely had something to do with that even if he was a s*** villain regardless lol

Yeah more krem would of been beneficial.
I do wonder why they decided to have a bakeoff instead of just improving the version that scored the highest, bad decision on their part

I think it’s a mix
Because there’s no way the script alone was so bad when Gunn put her on Wonder Woman AND Teen Titans

again, it makes so much sense why they let it sit in between toy story and minions now. tryna hide it / have an excuse for low box office
