Imo the "filmmaker-friendly" thing was never going to work here if this is what's going on with their first attempt. Its already awkward enough to have Gunn pitch the film ideas, hire his people for scripts, and then expect known directors with their own creative ideas to work the job. They wanted a studio mandated film.

So u decide to make a movie about 2 villains. U run the risk of making them good guys in the eyes of the viewer. Then u insert them into a batman movie after the fact?

James Gunn is a talented filmmaker, but he should not be running a studio

It's just funny how much Gunn hyped up this script and put the writer on WW and Titans for the first film in this universe not made by him to have all these problems

They were dealt a s***ty hand of cards regardless. General audience didn't ask for more shared universes and they have a generational Batman already.

We're not that far from a recent Flash, Aquaman and WW either. Imo this is why I always argued the investment shoulda been Green Lanterns film saga but now its just a show. It was the 1 thing with no recent adaptation

They need a real unique plan to deal with the hand though and seemingly haven't found it yet. A very persuasive argument is needed at bare minimum to re-introduce any of these names with fan interest
