Even ruthye’s origin scene. There was no tension bc it just went a to b immediately. Literally nothing had to room to breathe which also made the attempted emotional beats not related to krypton feel hollow flat and unearned

I was expecting to be able to name an alien character or remember the name of a planet. See their people live and how supergirl existing changed that . It’s a movie that some how both feels rushed from plot point to plot point while not delving deep into all the things that would make the ending hit harder and more emotional my charged .

Again not terrible and many mcu and dceu films lack this too

Yes it did 100% because ruthye quest for revenge doesn’t feel that central . we never see ruthye train to fight to kill him or ever look like she could kill him in anyway .

we’ve seen parents die in anime and assorted stories often hit the only thing that determines if we truly care is the execution. Otherwise it’s just emotional manipulation . We only know about her dad making swords and farming some or some s\*\*\* . We don’t need to know their full life story but core memories .

My firm stance is there are some things that we just allow in comics that doesn’t work live action
