nah i def said that the animation looks damn good and luigi sounds phenomenal. the mario kart seems so blatant but the nerd in me was activated when i saw it.

im prolly gonna see this a couple times like i did the menu and wakanda forever

Animation looks beautiful af and the new voices we’re hearing sound damn good too!….. Chris Pratt still sounds trash but I guess we’ll just have to deal with it and hope it sounds more natural in the movie lol

Yeah I was disappointed with this trailer for that reason.

So many big franchise films these days are coming out weak on the writing because you can tell they develop plot points with the intention of connecting all these different fan service 'moments', rather than just writing a cohesive and well thought-out story and building off that.

Video game nerds are literally the most miserable community of people to ever exist.

Adult aged humans choosing to relive and indulge in the nostalgia that adaptations/sequels/remakes provide, yet desperately searching to nit pick and b**** and moan any chance they get.

We get it, you think it’s corny/cheesy/gimmicky to include references to things like mario kart, smash bros, “galaxies”, “party” or whatever might induce a Leonardo points at screen gif.

Thing about it is this movie is made for children, based off a game made for children with a difficulty thru almost every title in the franchise to be beaten by a child. Why as an adult human being do you desperately want Hollywood to cater to your every demand to not include typical marketing strategies or tropes that will appease children and get seats sold in theaters?

The voice s*** about the only thing I’ll give y’all to complain about, but even that I think is silly to believe it will ruin the experience.

I think due to aging video game fans constantly having to s*** on the new era of anything, making video essays to do so or Twitter threads is just an example of ppl trying to come to terms with their age and ability to enjoy dumb silly innocent s***.

And I think we see so much of this pushback these days bc there’s a whole section of the internet that are actual children that instead of embracing their youth, they cling onto what they see as the valid adult opinion which like previously said, is to s*** on anything new and silly.

Both combined there’s enough noise to make this misery seem genuine but it’s actually just a result of ppl in a midlife crisis who happen to have an audience due to the internet.

The sequel better? I haven't peeped yet, but I f***ed with the first.
