Introducing Luigi and Donkey Kong in Mario, spinning off from there. Introduce Zelda on its own. Then tie them altogether in Smash Bros. Introduce Kirby, Star Fox, and some others there. Then give some of the newly introduced characters their own spin offs before making Smash Bros Melee
