His name was struck out of the clause in his will. And if you're going to debate this, I need you to tell me what reason there would be for anyone underlining something in a will. Logan probably didn't want any of his kids to be CEO. Hence the "You're not serious people" conversation in the karaoke bar and why he was even entertaining Matson in the first placeSo if you want to defend Kendall, you can't do that based on what Logan wanted or who he liked

It’s tragedy. I really believe the ending they gave us is long term more satisfying then having Kendall get the W given what we know about who he is.
The show ends with none of them succeeding their father, as it should be, because for all the quippy jib jabbing they did throughout the show, they truly are nothing.
Idk I guess I prefer the tragic ending to the happy ending

I've said it before and I'll say it again - there's a reason why Skylar got so much vitriol even though she was married to a d*** dealing murderer, there's a reason why Shiv is being called the "worst person ever" in a show where we witnessed her siblings do things like be terrible parents and commit sexual harassment
You liked Kendall, cool. Stop being a f***ing baby just because the show didn't end how you wanted it to and had an ending that's actually 10 times better.

It's symbolic of their relationship, yes. But it's really not ambiguous if you actually think about it. Logan crossed his name out. So you can't say "Tom was less deserving, Logan didn't want him to have it" when we have proof that at some point Logan didn't want Ken to have it either

And even if he didn't want him to have it, Logan never made the best decisions anyway.
You can defend this show for dear life but they made an ending that really wasn't that satisfying. You surely love it, I and many don't.
To me, it doesn't make for a great character arc to literally just be a circle back to square one. To try to get you invested in these characters for pretty much all of them to have less than satisfying endings. For no character growth to occur, for it all to mean nothing in the end. And nothing really did happen until Logan died. It was the same back and forth for 3 seasons. Writers found a formula and never strayed until the ending when they had to, and they hated the rich people so badly that they f***ed them all over.
You're welcome to feel different but to me that isn't great writing. I'm 100% sure you'll have a dissenting opinion about why it's great, and we'll have to agree to disagree.

F*** a character arc. Most people don’t have an arc. (You know who has an arc? Noah) They just wander through life and repeat the same mistakes. Most people struggle to change. Succession isn’t the Godfather. It’s not a story about growth. It’s about stagnation, it’s about vicious cycles.

the show is called succession. it's about what will happen when this media mogul dies or gets too sick to run his company. the show ends with a definite resolution to that question. none of the children succeed him. each of them has a different outcome and begins a new chapter of their life at the end.
idk that this show is about growth. it's about death. it's about what do the children do when their emperor father exits stage. how do they react when he gets sick, and later dies. this behemoth of a man who is the sun of their lives, whom they revolve around. what happens when the sun burns out? and how does his manipulative, often abusive fathering affect them? it's a tragedy.
i mean going into the final season i think most people expected a tragic ending because the show was blatantly shakespearean from the jump.

I never got the impression the show was building up Ken to be “that guy”, it actually displayed his incompetence and arrogance at nearly every turn

The entire show is about characters making moves to improve their own position and betraying others. In the end, what could be considered the main protagonist got betrayed by his own siblings. Whether you like the ending or not, it makes perfect sense
