can someone explain to me why karolina and stewy both congratulate roman before the board meeting?

Stewy especially says "you did a f***ing good one, man"

is this solely about mencken? like trying to cheer him up after the mess of his eulogy at the funeral?

i took it as them congratulating them that they were able to pull the votes together

this makes sense, it feels like when someone has been having a rough week so you congratulate them on accomplishing the small things you know?

i guess we see Karolina mention it to Shiv as well but its not in the same condescending tone they use it in towards Roman, who also looks slightly confused when Stewy said it to him.

just an interesting little scene that adds to how people view him I guess.

The stickers were from the auction at Logan’s apartment, Greg is now Tom’s possession

I’ve been wrestling with this for some time, but why did the kids love Logan? The whole show he was humiliating and belittling them,
Roman couldn’t even come up with one single happy memory, Kendall said he could even have a drink with him and Shiv’s experience must’ve been dreadful.
    Why didn’t they feel relieved?

because he’s their father and has always been present in their life. familial abuse can be really difficult to overcome.

They were at least just as enamoured/fearful of logans power as everyone else ( ex: "world of a father") .

And Logans abuse was a love language to the kids, (ex:the Valentine's day card bit when Kendall was watching that clip of logan)

so they still had justification to love him even though he pretty much hated them. Imo they didn't have any example of real love growing up. They mom was trash too and it seems like they weren't close to any other part of their family. With no other options, they took what they got without question and processed it as love. Sad s***, they never had a chance tbh.

Shouldn’t be in this thread rn but I’m wrapping up S3 at the moment and am I buggin or does it kinda suck? There’s no direction, things feel like they’re just happening randomly, Kendall’s whole war goes nowhere and fizzles out, Sandy & Stewy’s bear hug gets wrapped up with no tangible consequences, then they just throw in this GoJo thing towards the end of the season out of nowhere and it suddenly takes center stage. Feels like a huge writing decline compared to 1&2.

After season 3 wrapped I was in the minority of people who thought it had a sharp decline in quality. Now that the show is finished I can confirm that season 3 is in fact the worst season. I do encourage you to watch the last season though, it’s truly great

Yea I’ll stick with it. The characters and scenarios are entertaining enough, I’m just losing investment in the plot because they’ve built up Logan to be so infallible that he simply handles every situation with pretty limited repercussions. On top of that major plot-points get built up and then thrown away really easily to the point where I sometimes feel like I missed an episode.

As scripted, it was meant to end with an aerial shot where we see Kendall walking, and we see Colin following him. I begged Armstrong and director Mark Mylod, “Can we go to the water? I want to keep walking.” We ended up at the bitter end of Battery Park, facing the water. I'd never seen waves like that in the East River. It felt biblical. And there was this terrible clanging on some scaffolding nearby. We didn't know what we were looking for, but something profound happened. We only had about eight minutes to shoot that piece at the end because the sun was going down. The water was calling to me. It felt right to all of us.

Listen to the John Berryman poem that Jesse has named these finales after. John Berryman himself died by suicide, jumping into the frozen river. I tried to go into the water after we cut—I got up from that bench and went as fast as I could over the barrier and onto the pilings, and the actor playing Colin raced over. I didn't know I was gonna do that, and he didn't know, but he raced over and stopped me. I don't know whether in that moment I felt that Kendall just wanted to die—I think he did—or if he wanted to be saved by essentially a proxy of his father.

    The f*** Jeremy

i would like to see this scene but when colin saves him, we see kendall just bawling crying
